About Photini Vrikki

Photini is a Research Fellow in Digital Humanities at Brunel University London. She is currently leading on the digital side of the Creative Interruptions: grassroots creativity, state structures and disconnections as a space for 'radical openness’ project. Her focus is on tracing the gaps and links between the anti-racism movements of the 70s and 80s with contemporary social media-infused anti-racism movements. Her research interests span from the politics of data and data storytelling to the identity politics, social movements, and solidarities forming in social media networks and VR environments. Photini completed her PhD in Digital Culture and Society at King's College London in 2016.
