Paul is co-leading, co-designing, and co-producing with Anandi Ramamurthy on Strand 4.
Paul’s research interests focus the history of the British labour movement’s approach to the colonies and how this impacted on metropolitan thinking and policies. He has carried out research on the British Labour party’s attitude towards the Middle East and in particular to the Palestinian conflict, to decolonization in Africa and, more recently, to India, in the period leading up to its independence. He is currently researching anti-colonial activities in the 1930s and 1940s. and in particular their impact on British Labour organisations.
